Each year since its beginning the Heart of the Community has honored residents of Rome for their committed service and dedication to the community. Monetary donations are given to the recipient’s charity of choice.
This year’s charities will be announced at the February Awards of Honor Gala.
On February 28, 2026, several of Rome’s “unsung” heroes will be honored at the 40th annual Awards of Honor Gala. For over 40 years, AdventHealth Redmond has been the presenting sponsor for these awards. The individuals are recognized for their commitment to volunteer service which makes this community a better place in which to live, work and raise a family.
Proceeds from the Heart of the Community Awards will be used for heart projects in Rome and Floyd County.
